THE Ministry of Finance held a religious ceremony at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque yesterday in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 70th birthday.
A PRESENTATION of Long Service Medal (PKL) awards was held yesterday for 32 officers and staff from the Ministry of Finance, and all departments under it.
Officiating at the ceremony – which was held at the Ministry of Finance building – was Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance II.
A TOTAL of 23 orphans of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the departments under it received donations during the ministry’s Nuzul Al-Quran celebration, organised by the Brunei Investment Agency, held at the Theatre Hall yesterday.
The guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance II.
FEMALE officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and departments under it, attended a talk yesterday titled “Ada Apa Dengan Ramadhan?” at the MoF’s theatre hall.
The lecture was delivered by a speaker from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Dr Lilly Suzana Hj Shamsu who highlighted the benefits of fasting during the month of Ramadhan.
“Ramadhan is ibadat (acts of worship) that is obligatory. Other obligatory acts of worship include the five daily solat (prayers) and performing Haj.”
