The Interchangeability Agreement between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore continued to operate in the two countries. Being the customary tender in Brunei, the Singapore currency continued to circulate side by side with the Brunei currency.
In 2004, the total Singapore currency repatriated by the Brunei Currency and Monetary Board had increased to B$4.22 million, compared to B$2.97 million in 2003. The amount of Brunei currency repatriated by Monetary Authority of Singapore excluding the amount held in their custody awaiting repatriation was B$684.74 million, an increase of 1.91% compared to 2003.
