ABOUT CIBFM

The Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance And Management (CIBFM) was established under the Ministry of Finance with an aim to become the human talent development platform for the financial industry in Brunei Darussalam. As a Centre of Excellence, it provides professional learning and development solutions in major disciplines such as Banking, Finance, Insurance, Capital Market as well as Management and Professional Studies. The continuous learning programmes are exclusively designed to meet the broad spectrum of the development needs and requirements at all levels.

STRONG LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE

CIBFM reports to a Board of Directors comprising of the Permanent Secretary (Policy) of the Ministry of Finance as the Chairman and the Managing Director of the Autori Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) as the Deputy Chairman. Other members include the Deputy Managing Director (Regulatory) and a representative from AMBD, the Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry Education, a Member of the Syariah Financial Supervisory Board, representatives from four (4) major domestic banks and a representative from the Brunei Darussalam Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  The Board of Directors provides strategic directions to the policy matters and governance of CIBFM.

Another level of governance is the Executive Committee with similar member compositions of which the Deputy Managing Director (Regulatory) of AMBD is the Chairman with members comprising of representatives from AMBD, five (5) domestic banks and Brunei Investment Agency. The Committee serves to facilitate, review and make necessary recommendations to the Board of Directors on operational matters, particularly in the structuring and designing of CIBFM course programmes.

DYNAMIC TEAM

The day to day management of CIBFM is run by a team of enthusiastic officers, led by the Chief Executive Officer. The team members, coming from diverse background, are committed to offer and organise professional courses that deliver the demand and priorities of the financial industry communities in Brunei Darussalam.
