STARS DISCOVERY DAY AND INCOME TAX AMENDMENTS

The Revenue Division of the Ministry of Finance has continued its series of STARS Discovery Day Roadshow on 9 May 2012 at 8:30am at the Theatre Hall, Ministry of Finance Building.  The  is the second roadshow of a series of roadshows to introduce the System for Tax Administration and Revenue Services (STARS).  The guest of honour is Puan Hjh Ning-Lela binti Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Permanent Secretary (Performance).  The roadshow was attended by company directors, accountants, auditors and tax agents. TRANSFER & APPOINTMENT

Bandar Seri Begawan - By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister's Office yesterday announced that His Majesty has consented to the transfer and the appointment of the following officers:

Awang Haji Shahbudin bin Haji Musa, Permanent Secretary (Performance), Ministry of Finance is transferred to Brunei Liquefied Natural Gas Sendirian Berhad (BLNG) and subsequently appointed as General Manager, LNG Marketing, BLNG; and Dayang Hajah Ning-Lela bind Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Performance & Compliance), Ministry of Finance to be promoted as Permanent Secretary (Performance), Ministry of Finance.

The date of transfer and appointments of the officers will take effect from Monday, 24th of Jamadilawal, 1433 hijrah corresponding to April 16, 2012. Read More

IN THE zeal of making requests and suggestions in the form of additional aid for government consideration, it may not be realised that the attitude of too much dependence on the government is being encouraged and this can lead to a nation that is "crippled, weak and backward".
