Import and Export Prohibition and Restriction
Brunei Darussalam imposed restriction/prohibition and control on several types of goods either for import, re import, export and re export as provided in Customs Order 2006 (Section 31). There are four (4) schedules in the Customs Order (Restriction and prohibition) on import and export.
First Schedule: Prohibition on Import
The following goods are prohibited to be imported or brought into the country:
Dangerous drugs such as Opium, Heroin, Morphine and Psychotherapy materials such as LSD, DEI, DMT, DOM, Mescaline, Barbiturates and Amobarbital.
Arms and ammunitions.
SALK polio vaccine.
JAVA sparrows (padda oryzivora).
Local domestic pigs exported from Thailand.
Fire crackers (known as double bangers).
Vaccines of Chinese Taipei origin.
Cigarettes without health warning written on their packages.
Fabric of tissue consisting of any fibre whatsoever and of any other article whatsoever which fibre or tissue or other article bear the imprint of any currency note, bank note or coin which are, or have at any time been, issued or currently in use in any country whatsoever.
Second Schedule: Restriction on Import
The following goods are prohibited to be imported or brought into the country except with the approval of the Controller of Customs on his behalf:
Any living plants or materials.
Live cattle and birds.
Pin schedule, fruit machines, slot machines and any other schedule or machines of a like nature whether involving an element of change or not.
Persian glue.
Poisons and deleterious drugs.
Rice paddy and the products thereof.
Separated skimmed or filled milk.
Poh Ka, Poh Kah or Poh Kau.
Koyoh or Koyok.
Liow Ko.
Ch’ow Ko.
Sugar, salt and converted timber.
Used (including reconditioned) motorcars, motorcycle, lorries, omnibuses, including mini buses, tractor and trailers.
Alcoholic liquors.
Any radioactive materials.
Third Schedule: Prohibition on Export
The following goods are prohibited to be exported or taken out of the country:
Prawn refuse and copra cake.
Stone or gravel.
Fourth Schedule: Restriction on Export
The following goods are restricted to be exported or taken out of the country except with the approval of the Controller of Customs or on his behalf:
Derris Species (tuba).
Elaeis Quineesis (oil palm).
Rice, paddy and products thereof.
Timber Class 1A, 1B, 1C, Nibong, Rattans.
Article of an antique or historical nature made or discovered in Brunei Darussalam.
Kerosene.
Cigarettes.
Sugar.
Premium and Regular Gasoline.
Diesoline.
