Negara Brunei Darussalam has not adopted the A.T.A Carnet Convention yet. How ever we are committed to speed up the flow of temporary importation of commodities with out import duty.

1. Commodities approved for temporary importation
Commodities for demonstration and exhibition.
Commodities for trade samples.

2. Approval or Verification letter
Exhibition or demonstration commodities should get the approval of Ministry of Home Affairs.
Demonstration commodities for government agencies or private companies should obtained the verification of the relevant agencies or companies.
Application for temporary import together with the approval or verification of the relevant agencies or companies should be submitted to the customs department.

3. Duration of approved temporary import
3 months from the entry date of commodities.
Commodities should be taken out after the approval due date.

4. Extension of duration
Duration may be extended to not more than 6 months from the initial import date subject to the Customs clearance.

5. Failure to export within in the given period
Fill import duty will be imposed on the commodities.

6. Security of financial guarantee
Financial guarantee in the form of cash or bank cheque is required in accordance with the amount of import duty on the temporary imported commodities.

7. Refund of financial guarantee
Financial guarantee will be refund when the commodities has been taken out in compliance with all export terms.
