The Royal Customs and Excise Department marked 100th anniversary of its establishment in 2006. As it grew over the years from a small department under the Treasury it has built up its strength with dynamics of world’s customs standards and expectation.
The Department which is under the Ministry of Finance provides the process and procedures for Trade Facilitation Services and Revenue Enforcement on imports and export. Security assurance is one of the prime functions of the Royal Customs and Excise Department where Customs Control at Border Checkpoints and ports are exercised to monitor and apply strict legal enforcement against prohibited and restricted goods, and undeclared dutiable goods.
