About us

This division facilitates the conduct of research activities in areas relating to fiscal, monetary and financial sector policy issues and manages the Ministry’s participation and obligations in international foray.

• The research function would include the management of various technical assistance opportunities offered by various international bodies and regional grouping. The division also addresses relevant policy issues through the formation of specific ad hoc economic terms comprising of relevant officers and expertise from key relevant divisions and departments from within the Ministry.

  The division also monitors Brunei Darussalam’s economic developments in the context of the IMF Article IV Consultation, ASEAN Surveillance and Fiscal Monetary Review.

  This division also coordinates the Ministry’s participation and obligations within various international and regional organisations to the area of finance including ASEAN, APEC, ASEM, IDB, IMF, World Bank, ADB and Commonwealth. This would also include Brunei Darussalam’s participation in FTA negotiations in the financial services sector.
