Begawan - A sports day event held yesterday by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium in Gadong, proved to be a day of fun and joy for all those involved.

The sports day was held specifically for the departments under the MoF, as well as His Majesty Sultan's Flight (HMSF) and the Authority Monetary Brunei Darussalam (AMBD).
Present as .the guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah.

Also present were permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of departments and sections, officers and staff of MoF as well as personnel and family members of HMSF and AMBD.

The event began with the introduction of house captains and team heads representing - Brunei Dollar House, Euro Dollar House, US Dollar House and Dinar House. This was then followed by a mass aerobic session led by an invited instructor from the Youth and Sports Department, Awang Shah Johan.

Sixteen types of games were contested during the course of the day such as the Indiana Jones Run, the game plan, balloon chain race, passing balls, biscuit eating, and the slowest bicycle race. There were also games prepared for the families of officers and staff.

The fun sports day is an annual event organised by the MoF with the aim of promoting an awareness of healthy living, partaking in exercise as well as fostering closer ties of friendship and cooperation amongst all present.
