Advancing industry-academia collaboration, innovation and commercialisation in support of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
Bandar Seri Begawan, 9 October 2026 – Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and AmiproSimpor Sdn. Bhd, a portfolio company under the Strategic Development Capital Fund, Investment Division of Ministry of Finance, formalised a strategic collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Inspiring Hub, Office of Industry Engagement and Enterprise Development (IEED), Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The MOU was signed on behalf of UBD by Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and on behalf of AmiproSimpor Sdn. Bhd. by Dr Ashraf Ali Mohamed Kassim, Managing Director.
The MOU establishes a strategic industry–academia partnership between UBD and AmiproSimpor to collaborate on research, innovation, intellectual property development and commercialisation. It also provides opportunities for training, internships, industrial attachments, graduate placements and staff exchanges, strengthening the link between academic expertise and industry needs.
Through these efforts, UBD and AmiproSimpor seek to develop local capabilities, deepen industry–academia engagement and contribute to economic diversification and the aspirations of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
